40 x 50 cm
Throughout my childhood, I was taught to be proper. Good. To do everything right. To please the adults. To wear white socks. And never step in puddles. And it wasn’t just me.
What does it mean to look back at your life at 30 and realize you’ve been walking around in white socks all along? What does it mean to realize that you thought your socks were white, but you actually stained them a long time ago? What does it mean to understand that you never wanted to wear them in the first place?
For several years now, I’ve been trying to take mine off. Maybe I’m starting to succeed a little. Now, my “Spotless” looks like this.
